Prestigious Accreditation Demonstrates Commitment to High-Quality Adult Learning

June 10, 2018 – The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded the Information Ethics & Equity Institute (IEEI) the prestigious Accredited Provider accreditation. IACET Accredited Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.

IACET is the premier standards-setting organization for continuing education and training. “As an Accredited Provider, IEEI joins an elite group of educators dedicated to excellence in continuing education and training,” explains IEEI Co-founder and Chief Education Officer Dr. Diana Ascher. “Our commitment to quality learning events for data and information workers underpins IEEI’s instructional methods, facilitation activities, and the technical assistance and coaching we provide. Our IACET accreditation status is a signal of the rigor with which we provide ethical and equitable professional development opportunities for the modern workforce. As such, the organizations that underwrite IEEI learning events for their employees are signaling to the public that ethics and equity are of the utmost importance in their organizational culture.”

“We are pleased to recognize IEEI as an Accredited Provider,” said Peter Finn, President of IACET and the Director of Learning and Development for the Society of Women Engineers in Chicago, IL. Finn added, “IEEI joins nearly 500 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education thereby ensuring the highest possible standards are met.”

Topics addressed by IEEI courses include:

  • Data Ethics
  • Information Literacy
  • Intersectionality
  • Knowledge Work
  • Mitigating Implicit Bias
  • Network Analysis

To achieve Accredited Provider status, IEEI completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 2013-1 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. IEEI has pledged its continued compliance with the Standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Accredited Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, IEEI is now linked to the IACET web site and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.
